Can paperboard give food an odour or taste?

It can under some conditions. Fibre source, recycled content, additives, coatings, storage and absorbed environmental odours may matter. Evaluate the exact board with the intended food and package structure.

Can outside printing affect the food inside?

Potential pathways include set-off when blanks are stacked, gas-phase transfer and migration through the substrate. Outside printing is not automatically irrelevant to the completed package.

Are low-odour and low-migration inks the same?

Does a barrier solve every odour and migration issue?

No. Barrier performance is substance-, material-, thickness-, temperature- and time-dependent and may be interrupted at seams, cuts or closures. Verify the complete structure.

Can packaging absorb warehouse or transport odours?

Yes. Paper-based materials and finished packs can be exposed to fuels, chemicals, fragranced products, dampness or contaminated pallets. Storage and transport segregation are part of risk control.
