Custom Wine Packaging and Accessories: Boxes, Bags, Cases and Production

UGI Packaging manufactures custom wine packaging and accessories for retail presentation, gifting and distribution. Our factory develops paperboard gift boxes, corrugated transit packs, wooden cases, bags, sleeves, labels and fitted accessory sets around the bottle dimensions, sales channel and required protection. The right specification separates presentation packaging from shipping protection instead of expecting one decorative box to do both jobs.

Choose the packaging route before choosing finishes

Start with the bottle count, bottle profile, filled weight, closure height, destination and whether the pack is displayed, gifted or shipped. A single-bottle folding carton can be efficient for retail; a wrapped rigid box supports a premium presentation; corrugated dividers and an outer carton are usually more important for parcel distribution. Our engineers can combine these layers when the project needs both presentation and transit protection.

Wine gift boxes and bags

Our factory produces one-bottle and multi-bottle boxes with paperboard partitions, neck supports, molded or die-cut inserts, ribbon pulls and protective outer cartons. We manufacture folding cartons, collapsible rigid boxes, drawer boxes and book-style cases, then print, laminate, foil, emboss and assemble them in-house. For bags, specify bottle weight, base reinforcement, handle type and the distance between the handle holes and bottle shoulder.

Accessory sets require a fitted insert

Corkscrews, stoppers, foil cutters, pourers and glasses must be held independently so metal parts cannot strike the bottle or presentation surfaces. We measure every component, engineer the insert and manufacture the paperboard, foam, molded plastic, wood or wrapped tray in our factory. The insert choice should be approved with the actual accessories because product weight, sharp edges and removal force cannot be judged from artwork alone.

Transit sleeves and bottle separation

A sleeve can protect against scuffing and minor contact, but it does not replace a tested shipping system. Our corrugated and paper-converting equipment produces dividers, neck restraints, base pads and outer cartons matched to the bottle geometry. Distribution testing should reflect the actual packed product and route; ISTA publishes packaged-product test procedures that buyers can use when defining an appropriate validation plan.

Corrugated shipping boxes

For one to twelve bottles, the quotation must identify bottle diameter, height, weight, orientation, shipping method and whether different bottle shapes share one carton. We cut and form corrugated partitions and cartons, print handling or brand information and check divider engagement, compression points and closure. A decorative gift box placed inside the system must also be restrained so it cannot move or abrade during transport.

Paperboard presentation cartons

Folding cartons are suitable when flat shipping, efficient assembly and printed graphics matter more than the mass of a rigid presentation box. Board grade, grain direction, bottom construction and window position must suit the filled weight. For a more substantial presentation, compare the structure with our custom paper gift box options and approve the bottle fit before production tooling is released.

Wooden wine cases

Our woodworking equipment cuts panels, machines joints, sands surfaces, applies approved coatings and assembles sliding-lid, hinged and fitted wooden cases. Wood species, panel thickness, joint method, internal restraint, logo process and export requirements must be confirmed before sampling. A wooden case can be combined with paper, foam, fabric or leather inserts, but each material interface needs clearance and abrasion checks.

Tubes, tins and sleeves

Round paper tubes, formed metal tins and printed sleeves create different tooling, packing and closure requirements. Our paper-converting and metalworking equipment manufactures and decorates these structures, while our assembly team fits liners, end caps and restraints. Specify whether the pack is decorative only or part of the transport system; a cylindrical presentation pack can still require a separate corrugated shipper.

Wine label design and printing

Label material and adhesive must be selected for the bottle surface, application temperature, condensation exposure and removal requirement. Our printing and finishing equipment produces pressure-sensitive labels with process color, spot color, foil, embossing and selective effects where the approved material permits. Send the bottle drawing, label area, artwork, application method and storage conditions so we can prepare a production-relevant proof and sample.

Quotation, sampling and QC

Send bottle and accessory samples or controlled drawings, pack quantity, materials, structure, printing, finishes, destination and packing method. Fixed costs may include structural samples, cutting tools, print plates, foil or embossing dies, molds and assembly fixtures. Production starts after the required sample, artwork, materials, quantity and packing specification are approved in writing. Our QC checks dimensions, bottle retention, divider fit, closure, print registration, finish consistency, hardware, assembly and packed-carton integrity.

Frequently asked questions

What information is needed to quote custom wine packaging?

Provide bottle dimensions and filled weight, bottle count, packaging structure, materials, printing, finishes, insert or divider requirements, quantity, destination and shipping method.

Can one wine gift box also serve as the shipping carton?

Only when the complete packed system is engineered and validated for the distribution route. Many presentation boxes need a separate corrugated outer carton and restraint.

Does UGI Packaging manufacture wooden and leather wine cases?

Yes. Our factory operates woodworking, leather processing, printing, metalworking, insert-making, assembly and QC equipment for relevant wine packaging projects.

When does production begin?

Production begins after the required physical sample, artwork, materials, quantity, packing method and other project specifications are approved in writing.
