Compare the main metallic routes

Specify the complete material stack

Record the board or film, primer, coating, metallic layer, printed colors, white ink, protective coating, adhesive, and converting sequence. Each layer can change gloss, opacity, adhesion, fold performance, odor, and appearance. Do not approve the words gold, silver, or metallic without a physical reference.

Prepare artwork for metallic areas

Separate metallic, white, process color, spot color, varnish, cut, crease, and glue information. Mark overprint and knockout behavior. For large reflective areas, identify direction and visual seams. For small type, confirm that the selected route can hold the required detail.

Evaluate recycling claims conditionally

The U.S. EPA recycling overview explains that recycling depends on collection, sorting, and processing systems. A metallic appearance or thin layer does not by itself prove that a finished package is recyclable. Review the complete construction and destination market before making a claim.

Approve samples and QC
