Food Gift Boxes: Product Contact, Inserts and Distribution Requirements
A food gift box should be specified by product type, primary pack, direct-contact boundary, temperature, shelf life, grease or moisture exposure, insert layout and distribution route. Decorative structure does not replace the barrier and sealing responsibilities of the primary food package.
UGI Packaging manufactures food gift boxes, trays, inserts and printed accessories in our factory. Buyers can compare custom food packaging supplies and use our packaging development service to coordinate the complete gift set.
Define the food and contact boundary
State whether food is sealed in bags, jars, wrappers or trays, or whether any box or insert surface has direct contact. Provide product oil, moisture, aroma, temperature and shelf-life conditions. Chocolate, baked goods, tea, wine and mixed hampers need different retention and contamination controls.
The European Commission food-contact materials overview explains the EU framework within its scope. It does not approve a specific box; the buyer must define the market and evidence required for every direct-contact component.
- Food type and primary packaging
- Direct-contact surfaces
- Temperature and shelf-life conditions
- Grease, moisture and aroma exposure
- Item dimensions, weight and layout
- Insert and separation requirements
- Tamper and label responsibilities
- Outer carton and distribution route
Sample the complete assortment
Use the actual sealed products to approve compartment sizes, removal, lid closure, weight distribution, odor transfer and presentation. A mixed gift set should prevent glass, tins or rigid components from damaging softer items.
Our factory prints, cuts, forms and assembles the approved box and insert system. Production begins after products, contact boundary, materials, artwork, evidence, loaded sample and packing are approved. Our QC team checks dimensions, fit, printing, finish, assembly and item separation.
