UGI Packaging manufactures custom cake packaging boxes, paperboard bakery cartons, clear converted or formed plastic boxes, windows, handles and insert systems in our factory. The package must be designed around cake dimensions, weight, frosting clearance, grease or moisture exposure, refrigeration, carrying method and the exact boundary between food and packaging materials.
Choose a structure around the cake and delivery route
Window cartons support branding and visibility; clear plastic boxes improve product display; gable boxes add carrying loads; grid boxes separate macarons or pastries. Product height, board span, base stiffness, handle path and lid clearance must be approved with the actual product or a controlled weight-and-size fixture.
Define paper, plastic and food-contact boundaries
Paperboard, kraft, plastic sheet, pulp and coatings have different forming, grease, moisture and temperature behavior. A material can be used only within its documented conditions; the buyer must define whether food touches the package directly or through a liner, board, tray or cup.
The European Commission food-contact materials overview explains that requirements apply to materials intended to contact food. It does not certify a finished UGI Packaging box.
Printing and finishes near bakery products
Our printing and finishing equipment applies project-approved inks, coatings, lamination, foil and embossing. Artwork and finishes must stay within the approved contact design, and folds or windows must not expose unapproved adhesive or cut edges to the product.
For general folding structures, see our folding carton production guide; for transport protection, see our corrugated shipping cartons.
Sampling, quotation and QC
Send cake dimensions and weight, temperature and storage conditions, structure, direct-contact boundary, board or plastic, window, handle, insert or base, artwork, finishes, quantity and delivery route. Production begins after the packed-product sample and material specification are approved.
Our QC checks dimensions, base stiffness, lid clearance, folds, locks, handles, windows, plastic forming, print, finish position, adhesive control, cleanliness, packing count and any agreed material documentation.
Frequently asked questions
Which cake-box structure should I choose?
Choose from cake dimensions and weight, frosting clearance, carrying method, display needs, storage temperature and delivery route.
Does UGI Packaging guarantee every material is food-contact compliant?
No blanket guarantee is appropriate. Compliance depends on the exact material, contact condition, temperature, destination and supporting documentation for the project.
Can UGI Packaging manufacture clear plastic cake boxes?
Yes. Our confirmed scope includes plastic sheet converting and forming, printing, assembly and QC for relevant approved structures.
What does cake-box QC inspect?
QC checks dimensions, base and lid fit, folds, handles, windows or formed plastic, print, finishes, adhesive control, cleanliness and packing.
