Macaron Box Catalog: Cavities, Windows and Food-Contact Decisions

A macaron box should be selected around piece diameter, height, count, decoration, individual cups or liners, grease and moisture conditions, display window, handling and delivery. Folding cartons, sleeves, drawers and rigid gift boxes serve different channels and should not be chosen from appearance alone.

UGI Packaging manufactures food gift boxes and custom folding cartons in our factory through printing, cutting, creasing, forming, window and insert assembly and QC.

Choose the structure from product and service conditions

A folding carton is efficient for lightweight retail packs. A sleeve and tray can improve display and removal. A rigid box supports gifting but uses more transport volume. Windows show the product but change material interfaces, ventilation, rub and end-of-life claims.

Specify whether macarons sit in individual cups, a formed tray, paper dividers or another holder. Cavity spacing must prevent side contact without making removal difficult.

  • Macaron diameter, height and tolerance

  • Carton, sleeve, drawer or rigid structure
  • Window film and ventilation

Control food-contact materials

Identify every surface that touches unwrapped macarons. The FDA food-contact substances resource provides U.S. regulatory information, but the exact board, coating, ink, adhesive, cup, liner and window must be supported for the intended use.

Do not describe a whole mixed-material box as food grade from one component document. Record contact and non-contact layers separately.

Sample product fit and bakery handling

Pack actual macarons or controlled substitutes to check cavity fit, finger access, crushing, topping contact, window rub, closure, grease and moisture effects. Staff should assemble and load the sample using the intended bakery process.

Quotation, production and acceptance

Send product dimensions, count, contact condition, chosen structure, window, insert, artwork, quantity, destination and packing. Production begins after the dieline, materials, contact boundary, artwork, loaded sample and packing are approved.

Our QC team checks dimensions, cavities, window attachment, cutting, creasing, closure, print placement, cleanliness, product-fit samples and carton packing.

Frequently asked questions

How much clearance should a macaron cavity have?

Set clearance from actual product tolerances, toppings, cup or liner and removal access, then approve a loaded sample.

Does a clear window affect ventilation?

It can. Window size, film, opening design and product condition should be evaluated together.

Can printed board touch macarons directly?

Only when the exact material, ink, coating and intended use have appropriate project evidence.

What starts production?

Approved dieline, materials, contact boundary, artwork, loaded sample, quantity and packing start production.
