Custom Folding Cartons: Board, Structure and Print Approval
A custom folding carton is a printed paperboard structure supplied flat and formed around the product. Buyers should define product dimensions and weight, board, carton style, closure, window, insert, printing, finishes, packing and market evidence before requesting production.
UGI Packaging manufactures custom folding carton boxes in our factory through printing, die-cutting, creasing, folding, gluing and QC. The packaging printing process covers artwork and finish control.
Select a structure around filling and use
Straight tuck, reverse tuck, auto-lock bottom, crash-lock, sleeve and window cartons suit different assembly, load and display requirements. Provide the filling method and whether the carton is hand erected or machine packed. A heavy product may need a reinforced base or insert rather than simply heavier board.
Keep barcodes, warnings and small text away from folds, glue zones and windows. Security or anti-counterfeit features require a defined system owner, data workflow and acceptance method; a decorative holographic or UV effect is not automatically a traceability system.
- Product dimensions, weight and insertion direction
- Carton style and packing speed
- Board grade, thickness and grain direction
- Window film and opening
- Insert or internal support
- Print, coating, foil or embossing
- Barcode, coding and security owner
- Flat-pack and outer-carton requirements
Approve contact and production evidence
For food or other regulated uses, define direct and indirect contact, market and required documents. The European Commission food-contact materials overview explains the EU framework within its scope; it does not certify a specific carton.
Approve a white sample for fit and packing, then a printed sample for board, color, finish, window and folding. Production begins after dieline, board, artwork, evidence, sample and packing are approved. Our QC team checks dimensions, print, die-cutting, creasing, gluing, window placement and erection behavior.
Frequently asked questions
Which folding-carton style should I choose?
Choose from the product load, filling method, closure, display and assembly requirements rather than appearance alone.
Can a folding carton include a window?
Yes. Define the opening, film, gluing, product visibility and any contact or recycling implications.
Does a holographic finish provide anti-counterfeiting?
Not by itself. A security system needs controlled features, data, verification and ownership.
What starts production?
Production begins after dieline, board, artwork, finishes, evidence requirements, approved samples and order details are released.
