How to Get an Accurate Quote for Foldable Gift Boxes
UGI Packaging can quote a foldable gift box accurately when the product size and weight, box dimensions, structure, board and wrapping paper, printing, finishes, insert, quantity and packing method are defined. A photo alone is not enough because two boxes with the same outside appearance may require different board thicknesses, magnets, reinforcement, tooling and assembly work.
The minimum quotation brief
- Product dimensions, weight and orientation inside the box.
- Required internal and external box dimensions.
- Foldable structure, closure and opening direction.
- Board, wrapping paper, printing and surface finishes.
- Insert material, compartments and product-removal method.
- Order quantity by size or artwork version.

Stock references versus a custom specification
A stock reference can establish approximate size, depth, color and opening style, but a custom quotation still depends on material availability, printing, finish, insert and quantity. Common choices include fixed or removable ribbon closures, concealed magnets, paper hinges, corner tapes and different flat-pack constructions. We manufacture, wrap, print and assemble these structures in our factory rather than treating them as generic purchased boxes.
Board thickness is selected from the box span, product weight and expected handling. Wrapping paper changes corner build-up, color, texture and print behavior. Dark uncoated papers, metallic papers and linen textures may reproduce artwork differently from white coated stock, so the production material must be included in sampling.
Printing, finishes and fixed costs
Our printing and finishing equipment supports offset, digital and screen printing, lamination, foil stamping, embossing, debossing and other approved treatments. Fixed costs can include structural development, cutting dies, print plates, foil or embossing tools and assembly fixtures. A precise artwork size and finish map lets us separate these fixed items from material, conversion, assembly and packing costs.
The insert changes the box specification
A paperboard, foam, molded plastic, fabric-wrapped or molded-pulp insert changes internal clearance, box depth and packing labor. Send the actual product whenever possible. Our custom gift box insert process checks product retention, removal force, accessory separation and presentation before the external box dimensions are frozen.
Sample route and production release
We normally confirm structure and product fit first, then produce a material-complete sample for wrapping, color, logo position, closure action and insert performance. Production starts only after the agreed sample, artwork, material references, quantity and packing specification are approved. What our QC checks
Our QC team checks dimensions, board and paper references, groove and fold accuracy, corner wrapping, adhesive marks, magnet alignment, ribbon length, print registration, foil or embossing position, insert fit, opening force and packed quantity. The quote should also identify acceptance-critical features so the sample and production inspection use the same standard.
