3D Packaging Visualization vs Structural Design and Prototyping
A 3D packaging rendering is a visualization tool, not proof that a structure fits, folds, molds, ships or can be manufactured at the shown appearance. Buyers should separate four deliverables: visual rendering, dimensioned structural drawing, production dieline or CAD data, and physical prototype.

Know what each deliverable proves
A rendering communicates shape, color, graphics, finish placement and presentation. A structural drawing defines dimensions, materials, folds, joints, tolerances and interfaces. A dieline carries print and converting geometry. A prototype checks physical fit and interaction, although its material and process may differ from mass production.
The brief should state camera angles, background, artwork version and finish assumptions for a rendering. For structural work, provide product dimensions, weight, insertion direction, fragile areas, pack quantity, opening, closure, material preference and distribution route.

Do not approve performance from an image
A rendering cannot validate compression, drop performance, opening force, hinge life, seal integrity or color on the final material. A virtual model may identify interference or panel conflicts, but physical samples and tests are required where material behavior and process variation matter.

Use a controlled approval sequence
Approve the concept rendering, then the dimensioned structure, then a white or functional prototype, then artwork and printed sample, followed by tooling or production release where applicable. Record the approved revision at every step so the rendering does not continue showing an obsolete dieline or finish.
