Should the luxury gift box be tested by itself?

Usually the test unit should match the real shipment, including product, insert, retail box, protective wrap, inner pack, shipping carton and pallet where used. Test an isolated retail box only when that represents actual handling.

Which transport hazards should be considered?

Relevant hazards may include drops, impacts, vibration, compression, handling, temperature, humidity and load stability. Select them from the actual parcel, less-than-truckload, container, air or pallet route.

Is an ISTA test automatically required?

How many samples should be tested?

Use the selected standard, laboratory plan and risk decision. Do not invent a universal quantity; record sample construction, production lot and any preconditioning.
