A stand-up pouch commonly uses front and back panels with a bottom gusset, while a flat-bottom pouch adds a distinct bottom panel and usually more printable faces. Neither is universally better. What is the structural difference between a stand-up and flat-bottom pouch?
A conventional stand-up pouch forms its base from a folded bottom gusset. A flat-bottom pouch uses a separate or differently constructed bottom panel with side panels, creating a box-like footprint. Exact construction varies with the pouch-making route.
Which pouch provides more artwork panels?
Flat-bottom formats often provide front, back, side and bottom printable areas. A stand-up pouch normally has front and back panels plus the gusset area. Usable artwork still depends on seals, folds, zipper position and production tolerances.
