Rigid Box Construction: Board Selection and Structural Parameters #

Print and Surface Finishing: Parameters That Protect the Luxury Finish #
Most jewellery box wrapping papers are printed sheet-fed offset before lamination to the greyboard. Soft-touch laminate is the second most common finishing request. We apply it at 3–5 microns dry film thickness using a thermal lamination process. The key quality parameter here is peel strength — we test to ASTM D1876 and require a minimum 1.8 N/mm peel strength before releasing any laminated sheet to the box-making line. Soft-touch surfaces are highly susceptible to fingerprint marking during assembly; we require operators to wear cotton gloves from the lamination stage through final packing.
UV spot varnish over soft-touch laminate — a popular combination for logo highlighting — requires a UV cure energy of 120–160 mJ/cm² on our LED-UV line. Under-cured spot UV on soft-touch will smear within 24 hours of production; we run a thumbnail scratch test on the first 10 sheets of every job before proceeding.
Colour accuracy is managed to G7 Master Certification standards on our offset presses. For Pantone-matched brand colours on jewellery packaging, we target a Delta-E of ≤2.0 against the approved colour standard — above Delta-E 3.0 is perceptible to the human eye and we will not ship.
QC Checkpoints and Compliance Requirements #
