Custom Door Hanger Printing: Die-Cut Design, Materials and Quality Control
A door hanger is a die-cut printed piece whose opening, neck width, overall stiffness and message hierarchy must work together. The best specification starts with the actual handle or knob geometry and distribution environment, then defines size, stock, coating, perforation, printing and packing.

Compared with a standard printed flyer, the hanger requires a functional die line and stronger control of the narrow area around the opening. Measure the opening before designing the page
A circular opening, keyhole slot, side-entry slit or hook shape behaves differently during placement. Supply the target handle diameter and any clearance restriction. The neck area should be wide enough for the selected stock and distribution method; a narrow neck can tear even when the main body feels rigid.
The printed message must also be readable while the hanger is on the door. Put the main offer, instruction or identification above the fold line created by the handle, and keep critical text away from the die-cut opening, slit, perforation and trim edge.

Select material and finish for the distribution route
Coated paperboard supports color graphics and economical distribution. Uncoated material is useful when staff or recipients must write on the piece. Lamination or a suitable coating can improve rub and moisture resistance, but the finish must be tested around cuts and perforations because a brittle layer may crack or make tearing inconsistent.
A door hanger is not automatically weatherproof. If it may encounter rain, condensation or long outdoor exposure, state the duration and environment so the substrate and print system can be evaluated for that use.
Artwork, proof and production route
Supply the die line as a separate non-printing layer, extend backgrounds through bleed and keep text within the safe area. The Ghent Workgroup PDF production guidance is a useful reference for print-ready file settings, but the final export profile must match the agreed job condition.

A buyer can reduce failures by supplying a handle sample or dimensioned reference and approving an actual fit sample before the production clock starts.
