The short answer: compare setup requirements, not a universal MOQ
Custom flexible pouches do not have one universal MOQ. The economical production quantity depends on the printing and converting route, artwork, pouch size, material structure, accessory requirements, setup waste and the quantity at which fixed preparation costs can be distributed reasonably.
Is there one standard MOQ for all custom flexible pouches?
No. A quoted minimum can reflect the selected printing route, material purchasing condition, pouch-making setup and commercial policy for that order. Buyers should ask what creates the quantity threshold instead of treating one supplier number as an industry-wide rule.
Which setup requirements can affect the economical production quantity?
Depending on the route, preparation can include artwork review, cylinders or printing plates, ink preparation, press make-ready, lamination, slitting, zipper or spout setup, pouch-forming adjustments and inspection samples. Not every order uses every item, so the quotation should identify the actual route.
Why does pouch size affect the quantity and cost calculation?
Pouch dimensions affect print layout, web utilization, repeat length, the number of pouches across the web and material consumption per finished piece. Two orders with the same piece count can therefore use different film areas and setup arrangements.

Ask whether the threshold comes from material purchasing, printing setup, cylinder or plate preparation, pouch converting, accessory procurement, packing, or a combination. Also confirm whether the quantity is stated in pieces, kilograms, meters or printed film area.
How can buyers compare two pouch quotations fairly?
Use the same dimensions, structure, thickness, print coverage, colors, pouch format, zipper or spout details, testing, packing and delivery terms. A lower quoted MOQ is not automatically a lower total cost or a technically equivalent package.
