Foldable Gift Box Catalog: Structures, Closures and RFQ Checklist
A foldable gift-box catalog should identify how each box collapses, locks, closes and carries the product. Buyers should compare panel construction, corner assembly, magnets, ribbons, windows, inserts, flat-pack protection and final distribution instead of selecting from photographs alone.
UGI Packaging manufactures foldable rigid boxes in our factory through printing, cutting, wrapping, forming, magnet and ribbon installation, insert production, assembly and QC. Our foldable gift-box design process and magnetic foldable gift boxes provide two useful starting points.
Compare foldable structures by assembly behavior
Four-corner collapsible boxes, book-style foldable cases and panel-based magnetic boxes use different joints and locking methods. Define who assembles the box, whether adhesive is permanent, whether the box can be flattened again and how corners remain square under load.

This original foldable-box catalog reference is retained to compare structures. Final panels, joints, closure, insert and assembly method must follow the approved project sample.
Windows, handles and decorative ribbons add interfaces that must be designed around board, wrap and product weight. Do not treat a window film or ribbon as universally recyclable or load-bearing.

Match the insert to the assembled box
An insert can stabilize the product, but it can also force panels out of square or prevent the lid from closing. Approve product fit, removal access, accessory placement and lid clearance on a fully assembled sample.
Our factory manufactures paperboard, foam, molded plastic, wrapped and other approved insert constructions with our own cutting, forming, molding, wrapping and assembly equipment.
Approve flat-pack and loaded performance
Check assembly time, corner locking, magnet alignment, surface rub, repeated opening and loaded closure. If the box enters parcel distribution, validate the complete presentation box and shipper using a relevant route. ISTA publishes packaged-product test procedures for buyer selection.
Quotation and production release
Send product dimensions, weight, chosen structure, board and wrap, closure, insert, window, artwork, finish, quantity, assembly method and packing. Fixed costs may include structural development, cutting dies, foil or embossing tools and insert tooling.
Production begins after drawings, materials, components, artwork, loaded sample and packing are approved. Our QC team checks panels, joints, corners, closure, insert fit, print and finish, assembly and carton packing.
Frequently asked questions
What makes a gift box foldable?
Rigid or semi-rigid panels connect through flexible joints so the box can ship flat and become stable after assembly.
Does every foldable box use magnets?
No. Structures may use magnets, tabs, corner tapes, adhesive strips, ribbons or combinations.
What should be tested while the box is flat?
Check surface rub, joint condition, component protection, assembly instructions and carton packing.
What starts production?
Approved drawings, materials, components, artwork, loaded sample, quantity and packing release production.
