Custom Sales Sheet Printing: File Setup, Paper and Finishing
A sales sheet is a focused one- or two-sided printed document that explains one offer, product family or buying proposition. It succeeds when the content hierarchy, product data, images, paper, finish and distribution method are specified together instead of treating it as a generic color page.
UGI Packaging manufactures sales sheets through our prepress, printing, finishing and cutting operations. Lightweight handouts can follow a flyer printing route, while sheets designed as part of a sales kit should be sized and finished to fit printed presentation folders without edge damage.
Define the content before choosing decoration
Identify the audience, action and information that must remain current during the print run. Product name, primary benefit, application limits, key specifications, evidence, response route and version date usually deserve priority. If prices, technical data or contact information change frequently, use shorter production quantities or a design that separates stable brand content from variable inserts.
A one-sided sheet works for a concise handout or insert. Two sides allow a front-page summary and a more detailed specification or comparison on the reverse. A folded piece is no longer a simple sales sheet and should be quoted with fold position, panel order and creep considerations where applicable.

Prepare production-ready files
Supply high-resolution placed images, approved fonts, bleed and safe margins. Tables and small specifications must remain readable after final sizing. If a background or border reaches the edge, design it to tolerate normal trim movement rather than using a hairline frame that makes variation obvious.
The Ghent Workgroup application settings provide structured guidance for production PDF creation. UGI Packaging preflights the file against the chosen print process, paper and finish, then records the approved version before plates or production output are released.
Proofing, quote inputs and production start
A digital proof checks copy, images, page order and trim. A calibrated color proof is more useful when brand or product color is important; a physical sample is useful for paper feel, opacity, stiffness and finish. The quote should identify artwork correction, plates, special-color setup, cutting tools and finish setup separately from unit printing where applicable.
Production begins after the final file, paper, color target, finish, packing and purchase details are approved. UGI Packaging prints, finishes, cuts, counts and packs the sheets according to the signed specification.
Quality checks
Our QC team checks version, dimensions, trim, front-to-back registration, color consistency, image quality, small text, surface defects and packing labels. Common failures include obsolete data, low-resolution product images, show-through on light paper, cracked heavy coverage at a later fold and mixed language versions.
Frequently asked questions
What should a sales sheet include?
Include the offer, intended use, key specifications, evidence, limitations, response route and a version identifier appropriate to the project.
Should a sales sheet be one or two sided?
Use one side for a concise handout and two sides when specifications, comparisons or instructions need more space without shrinking the type.
Can sales sheets be packed into presentation folders?
Yes. Specify the folder pocket, insert size, sheet count and packing sequence so the finished pieces fit without curled or exposed edges.
How are multiple versions controlled?
Assign each language or product version a unique filename and visible identifier, approve the quantity breakdown, and label packed sets accordingly.
